Wii Overtakes Xbox 360 in Global Sales

Wii Overtakes Xbox 360 in Global Sales:

Not only did the Xbox 360 have a year-long head start, but the Nintendo still isn’t producing Wii consoles fast enough to meet demand. I still haven’t seen one on a store shelf.

Nintendo opens up game creation kit to all comers

Nintendo has released a game-creation kit allowing independent developers to develop games for its Wii console for the first time.

The firm said it will allow anyone to create and sell downloadable Wii games through its WiiWare scheme. From next year, such games will be flogged through the Wii Shop channel.

Developers can begin designing games on a PC but must complete them on the Wii.

Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America, said: ‘Independent developers armed with small budgets and big ideas will be able to get their original games into the marketplace to see if we can find the next smash hit.’

DS buttons: an invitation to play

Nice idea by DSButtons.com:

Grab some buttons for the DS wifi games you play and find some new gaming partners when you’re out and about.

At the very least, you’ll have some cool buttons so you can wear your DS love on your sleeve!

Iron Sudoku

Iron Sudoku is a friendly community of Sudoku enthusiasts. A new puzzle is made available every day, and players then have 24 hours to complete it.

Iron Sudoku isn’t about trying to complete puzzles quickly – it’s about a bunch of people getting together every day and chatting and having fun while doing a Sudoku puzzle.

Watch out for me “wasting some more time” as FReigM.
